The Merkur Futur brushed steel safety razor posses the patented 6-settings fine adjustment Merkur Futur System* for optimum shaving closeness with soap, cream or foam. Produced according to exacting standards in Solingen, Germany this traditional safety razor will provide a tailored, gentle & close shave. Built to last a lifetime.
*Setting '1' provides a gentler shave for normal to sensitive skin(less blade is exposed), through to setting '6' which provides a more tailored and close shave for the lengthier beard(more blade is exposed).
Contains: Operating instructions and one blade. Boxed.

18 July 2011Excellent shave. Requires a bit getting used to especially if you have been using Gillette series blades (fusion). Merkur offers better close shave. Handle is a bit short and brushed steel gets hot/cold quite easily depending upon the water temperature. Nevertheless I don't think i'd be using anything else after this purchase. Definitely worth every penny.

Futur??? Outstanding Razor
14 December 2010Today I received my razor. I was eager to try it on my 10 years beard. Yes you heard well: 10 years beard. After a good shower and a big lather I set it up to 3. On my whiskers went like a Ferrari (I forgot to mention that I also like to shave with a straight razor), but in my beard it stuck. I positioned to 5 and wow, it shaved like a charm. After 3 passes my face looked like BBS after a long lime. I would like to thank Niven & Joshua for their incredible job. Keep up the good work guys!; and I strongly recommend.

Merkur Futur
01 December 2010Reassuringly weighty and easy to use. Having used cartridge, battery or electric razors my entire shaving life I'll admit to having some trepidation as I contemplated my first shave with this. There was absolutely no need; At setting '1' it glided over my fizzog a treat, resulting in as good a shave as a brand new cartridge but feeling somehow better. Will save a fortune over time.

05 November 2010I brought this razor as a birthday gift for my Dad, who is thrilled with it! I've been told it's really easy to use and that it gives a much smoother shave than your standard cartridge razor blades. A perfect gift for birthdays or Christmas or as a treat to yourself!

My Merkur Futur.
27 October 2010Just received my Merkur Futur. I couldn't wait to try it out and when I did was I impressed? I certainly was! I couldn't believe how smooth my already smooth skin felt. At first I was a little bit nervous (never used this type of razor before) but once I lathered up and started shaving, I couldn't believe how smoothly it went across my skin as the weight and balance are perfect and made everything go smoothly and gave me a first class finish. I'm very impressed!

Great razor!
02 October 2008This razor was a great first step in escaping the world of cartridge shaving for me. It has paid for itself now I don't need to buy cartridges and canned foam every month.
Its nice and heavy too, and after a few months of use I've noticed a definite reduction in irritation and an increase in skin smoothness.
I'd recommend starting with it set at 2 and slowly increasing the blade angle each shave until you start to nick yourself, then take it back a notch. Make sure you use a decent cream and brush too.
Nothing else to say except buy this now!
